Heluo Yu | The Classic of Mountains and Seas

My 7th illustration of 山海经 - 何罗鱼(Héluó Yú) It has only one head but ten bodies. Its sound is like dog barking. Rumors said that it is also able to transform into a bird called 休舊(Xiūjiù). If people eat its meat, they can cure paralysis and swelling. Some people also believe that the Heluo fish belongs to the cephalopod octopus or squid. However, whether there were marine fish in this freshwater river in ancient times still needs to be found archaeological evidence.
