15th illustration of 山海经 (Classic of Mountains and Seas) - 计蒙 (Jì Méng) 🐲
In ancient Chinese mythology Ji Meng is the God of rain, also known as the Rain Master. It lives in the Guangshan mountain which has many jades on top and many trees in the bottom. Ji Meng has a dragon head, a human body, bird claws, feathers on his arms, and sprays rain by waving his arms and opening his mouth. It often wanders at the Zhangyuan. Wherever Ji Meng goes in and out, its always accompanied by winds and rainstorms.

Legend said, Ji Meng belonged to the camp of Zhuanxu, one of the Five Emperors, and defeated Gonggong in a battle between Zhuanxu and Gonggong the God of water. This period occurred before the Xia Dynasty (the first Chinese dynasty) was established, which is currently known as 三皇五帝(Sān huáng wǔ dì) / The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors.
